The Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI) will attend again the International Tourism Fair FITUR, which will be held from 23 to 27 January in Madrid (Spain). It is a key global meeting point for tourism professionals, being the leading fair for the receptive and issuing markets of Ibero-America.

The Responsible Tourism Institute - together with the Historical Villages of Portugal and the Portuguese Tourism Agency and with the support of NECSTouR - organised in Idanha-a-Velha (Portugal) on the 15-17 November the International Summit "Cultural Sustainable Destinations without Borders".
Mr Patrick Torrent - President of NECSTouR, met Mr David-Xavier Weiss, Deputy Director for Business & Leisure Tourism and Mr Michel Mari, in charge of the Business Clients Center and at the Comité Régional du Tourisme (CRT) of Île-de-France on the 13th of November in Paris to discuss about the future cooperation among the two organisations.
The International Workshop 'Towards Sustainable Coastal and Maritime Tourism Communities' held recently at the European Parliament in Brussels, in the framework of the Interreg MED Project MITOMED+ (Models of Integrated Tourism in the MEDiterranean Plus), concluded with a renewed call for community participation to improve the sustainability performance of coastal and maritime destinations.
On the occasion of the European Tourism Day 2018, Ms Eija Raasakka, Project Manager at the Lapland University of Applied Sciences, has been invited - as co-leader of the initiative - to present the initiative "Digitalisation and Safety for Tourism", under the Smart Specialisation Platform for Industrial Modernisation (S3P-Industry), by the European Commission.
NECSTouR has been one of the protagonists of the 2018 edition of the International Conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe, organised in Pafos (Cyprus) on the 25-27 October 2018 by the European Cultural Tourism Network.
A representative of NECSTouR has been invited to present its experience on Indicators at the 2018 Meeting of the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO) of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), organised in Madrid, on the 22-23 October 2018.
Mrs Ana Moniche and Inmaculada Gallego from the Region of Andalusia, intervened as Leaders of NECSTouR Working Group on Indicators and presented the advances of the MITOMED+ initiative as a good practice on translating Destinations Needs into Data Needs.
