NECSTouR Best Practices Protagonist at the European Tourism Forum 2019

The experiences of Gothenburg and Málaga awarded as the 2019 European Capitals of Smart Tourism and the Andalusia Lab are some of the best practices from the NECSTouR destinations which has been highlighted with the occasion of the 18th European Tourism Forum who was held on the 9-10 October in Helsinki under the auspices of the Finnish Presidency of the European Union.


EPSI and NECSTouR Establish a Strategic Partnership to Enhance Synergies Between Tourism and Sports

NECSTouR President Patrick Torrent and EPSI Executive Director Alberto Bichi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding prior to the EPSI conference in Brussels on the 4-5 of July 2019, with the strong believe that a reinforced collaboration between Tourism and Sports will benefit two sectors which are strategically complementary in the European institutions.

Smart Specialisation Platform on Tourism Presented to Innovation Stakeholders from the South-Muntenia Region

On behalf of NECSTouR, Mrs Marina Delgado - Andalusia Region, Vice-Presidency of NECSTouR - has been invited by the European Commission to present to the Innovation Stakeholders from the South-Muntenia Region the role of NECSTouR in the European tourism policy and its initiative on Digitalisation and Safety for Tourism within the Smart Specialisation Platform for Industrial Modernisation.



Entrepreneurial Discovery Focus Group on Tourism and Cultural Identity & Smart Localities


NECSTouR will participate in this event organised by the European Commission's Seville Joint Research Centre (JRC)  in collaboration with South-Muntenia Regional Development Agency  of Romania, in the framework of the project "Targeted Support to Smart Specialisation in Romania" (2016-2019). The project covers all the eight development regions of the country and aims to ensure a sustainable approach to smart specialisation strategies (S3), working along several action lines, tourism among them.

Meeting of the Digital Tourism Network


Meeting of the Digital Tourism Network organised by the European Commission on 18 March 2019 in Brussels.

The objective of the meeting is to take stock of the latest developments in and exchange views on digital innovation in EU tourism as well as to discuss future trends, common challenges and opportunities in this sector highly impacted by new technologies.

NECSTouR Secretariat will attend this non-public meeting, bringing its initiatives and experience and is willing to continue its involvement within this initiative.
