On behalf of NECSTouR, Mrs Marina Delgado - Andalusia Region, Vice-Presidency of NECSTouR - has been invited by the European Commission to present to the Innovation Stakeholders from the South-Muntenia Region the role of NECSTouR in the European tourism policy and its initiative on Digitalisation and Safety for Tourism within the Smart Specialisation Platform for Industrial Modernisation.
The Region of Flanders is among the 7 Champion Pilots Cities and Regions that will test the Territorial Approach to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)) by the OECD.
The Programme seeks to support interested cities and regions to develop, implement and monitor strategies to achieve the SDGs and fostering a territorial approach to the SDGs by;
The 2019 edition of the Awards for ‘Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism’ is organised by the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) and it is open to all tourist destinations across Europe, national, regional and local authorities, tourism boards and associations, destination management organisations, museums, interpretation centres, festivals and cultural NGOs.
The NAT Commission (on Natural Resources and Tourism) of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) approved that an own initiative opinion on sustainable tourism will be released.
The 11th project meeting of MITOMED+ Project has been held in Girona (ES), on the 24th and 25th of January 2019.
The event has been attended by NECSTouR Permanent Secretariat and representatives from the other Members involved in this project – Tuscany Region, Andalusia, Poreç Institute of Agriculture and Tourism and the University of Girona.
The Flanders Department of Foreign Affairs recently published a brochure in which they are giving to their partners an insight in their approach and goals. A chapter in the brochure (pp 23-26) is dedicated to tourism.
