22nd UNWTO General Assembly

China will be the host of the next UNWTO General Assembly, as decided by 21st UNWTO General Assembly (Medellín, Colombia, 15 September 2015).

The 22nd Session of the Assembly, the most important global meeting of senior tourism officials and high-level representatives of the private tourism sector, will take place in Chengdu, China, in 2017.

UNWTO & INRouTe workshop

The World Tourism Organisation of the United Nations (UNWTO) and  INRouTe organised a workshop in Venice titled: Subnational Tourism Measurement: feedback gathering prior to a UNWTO worldwide consultation.

ISTO World Congress 2016

This Congress has been a direct continuation of the previous edition, held in São Paulo, as it has been the outcome of the decisions initiated to strengthen the Organisation to serve its members with a more dynamic vision of Social Tourism.

The conference was open to ISTO member or not, tourism stakeholder, public authority, trade union or social organisation, university, … and most of all interested in social, solidarity and responsible tourism.

The general theme and topics of the Congress have been prepared around the concept of inclusion.


NECSTouR and UNWTO's SG join forces to advance Tourism Development in Europe

Mr Taleb Rifai - Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) – took advantage of his institutional visit to Brussels, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with NECSTouR, to advance the contribution of Tourism to sustainable regional development in Europe.

NECSTouR supports the CoR own-initiative opinion on Tourism

During the European Tourism Day, Mr Patrick Torrent and Mr Jan Korthoudt - President and Vice-President of NECSTouR - had the occasion to meet with Mr Hanspeter Wagner, Mayor of the Municipality of Breitenwang and Rapporteur for the NAT Commission of the Committee of the Regions.

It was the occasion to exchange reciprocal priorities and express NECSTouR's support for the CoR own-initiative opinion on Tourism.


A First Year full of Satisfaction for the European Tourism Manifesto

The latest General Assembly of the European Tourism Manifesto has been held on the 16th of September in Brussels.


It has been the occasion to analyse the Activity report 2015 and especially to celebrate the first year of life for this important working group which involves many Organisations dealing with Tourism at European Level. NECSTouR is one of them and representatives from the Permanent Secretariat were attending the event.
