On June 15 and 16, 2017 will be held in Arona the most important event of recent times in relation to the challenges faced by Holiday Destinations in their commitment to sustainability in the framework of the celebration of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.

Ministerial Conference on Tourism

NECSTouR has been invited to provide its contribution to this high level conference on Tourism.

On the 25th of May, Mrs Elena Lacasa, leader of the Working Group on Digital Platforms will make an intervention during the plenary meeting.

Mrs Cristina Nunez, Coordinator of the Permanent Secretariat, will intervene during one of the parallel sessions.

The event is organised in the framework of the Maltese Presidency of the EU.

Conference on Sustainable Tourism in the Danube Region: New Perspectives

29 June 2017 - 30 June 2017
Belgrade, Serbia


The Conference, taking place in the framework of International Danube Day, will look at how to create joint policies and strategies that can best lay the framework for sustainable tourism development, investment and promotion in the region. It will address key issues such as skills development, sustainability, transnational cooperation and innovation and aim to identify flagship projects for transnational cooperation in the Danube.

NAT Meeting and Conference

The NAT commission of the European Committee of the Regions is very active in promoting tourism and discussing ways forward for regions and cities in this policy area. NECSTouR is invited to speak during the upcoming conference on Tourism in Palma de Mallorca on 2nd June. The chairwoman of the NAT commission is the President of the Balearic Islands and she has invited the NAT commission to hold its external meeting in Palma on 1st of June and the Tourism conference on 2nd of Junee.
