WTTC Five Sustainability Trends to Watch in 2019


We are pleased to share the Five Sustainability Trends to Watch in 2019 by the World Travel Tourism Council:

Call for Good Practices on Sustainable Mobility and Tourism


NECSTouR and NIT are contributing as tourism experts in the European project CIVITAS DESTINATIONS (https://civitas.eu/destinations) aiming at addressing integrated measures on sustainable mobility for citizens and tourists in insular territories.

As such, we would like to map NECSTouR Members expertise and experiences in working with Sustainable Mobility in Tourism.

NECSTouR Participation into the Meeting of the UNWTO Working Group on SDGs Support


On 13 February 2019, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) will organise a meeting to enable all the interested affiliated members to present their current initiatives related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and see how to move forward with the activities of the specific Working Group on SDGs Support which has been launched last year.

Contribute to the EUSEW 2019


The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is back for its 14th edition! As you know, with EUSEW comes the biggest conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. This year’s theme is "Shaping Europe’s energy future".

Survey to Evaluate the "European Strategy for more Growth and Jobs in Coastal and Maritime Tourism"


Most European policies and economic activities directly or indirectly influence Coastal and Maritime Tourism (C&M), which can be a driver for economic growth. Moreover, the 72 percent of NECStouR Regions are C&M Tourism Destinations.
For both that reasons, C&M Tourism is a key priority within the strategy of NECSTouR.

Call for Proposals for Sustainable Lifestyles and Education Programme

Theme of the Call for proposals: Delivering on sustainable low-carbon lifestyles - Mainstreaming Low-Carbon Sustainable Lifestyles through innovative initiatives or upscaling of successful high-impact initiatives

Seminar "Smart Tourism in Smart Cities"


Mrs Cláudia Monteiro de Aguiar MEP, Member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism and Mr Paulo Rangel MEP, Vice-Chairman of the EPP, Vice-Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, EIN Chairman organise a Seminar on: "Smart Tourism in Smart Cities: How new technologies can boost tourism, create value and, at the same time, respect the citizen in the context of “smart city" on the 19th of February at the European Parliament.
