Members' Consultation: Integrate your priorities in the EU CoR Opinion on Sustainable Tourism


The NAT Commission (on Natural Resources and Tourism) of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is drafting an own initiative opinion to support the CoR in adopting a position on a particular issue of interest, in this case, related to: "Towards a more Sustainable Tourism for EU Cities and Regions."

Von Der Leyen Commission voted in: NECSTouR wishes a highly successful mandate and is ready to collaborate

As the European Parliament voted last week to approve Ursula von der Leyen’s Commission and already took office on the 2nd of December, it is now official: this is the List of Commissioners that will lead the implementation of the new European Priorities. NECSTouR expectations are focused around the recognition of Tourism as a driver of sustainable growth and a crucial element in the success of the European Green Deal.

Focus on Intergroups on the European Parliament

Ursula von der Leyen new commission is taking office on December 1st. As commissioners start naming their staff, the focus is now on the intergroups of the European Parliament, soon to be voted by political groups.

Ask your MEPs to support and vote for the Sustainable Tourism Intergroup.

A new Intern from Galicia to Support the NECSTouR Permanent Secretariat

I came to Brussels through a scholarship obtained thanks to the Axencia de Turismo de Galicia, depending on the regional Government of the Xunta de Galicia.


NECSTouR Calls the European Tourism Sector for a Behavioural Change Towards Sustainability

NECSTouR Vice-President, Mr Jan Korthoudt - Director of Tourism at the Government of Flanders – has been invited to give the NECSTouR perspective on Competitive and Sustainable Tourism on the occasion of the Seminar “Tourism in Transition” organised on the 27th of June by the Permanent Representation of Malta to the EU in Brussels.


The aim of the event was to explore the realities of the tourism industry within a global context and the current and foreseeable challenges together with the possible opportunities.
