The Project aims at accelerating the rate of refurbishment of existing buildings into Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB), supporting the private sector and promoting the front runners. NEZEH targets SME hotels which represent 90% of the European hospitality market and offers advantages to the hospitality industry.

Leader of the Communication and Dissemination work package, organisation of the neZEH High level event, Ensuring the sustainability of the project.

Area, Access, Accommodation, Attractions, Awareness and Activation are the six A's for the energy efficiency, protection of natural resources and environmentally friendly measures towards a more Sustainable Tourism which Ms Anya Niewierra - Director of South Limburg Tourism Board - presented at the 16th European Forum in Tallin.

Per each of that six A's Ms Niewierra presented some good practices from South Limburg (in the Netherlands) and other NECSTouR member Regions.


neZEH E-Toolkit is now Online

After three year of intensive work, the partner organisation of neZEH Project finally launched the e-toolkit: a practical tool for hotel owners to help them benchmark their energy consumption comparing to the neZEH levels and to suggest appropriate measures for energy efficiency improvement and renewable energy integration in order to turn their hotels into nearly Zero Energy Hotels.


Spanish Pilot Hotels endorsing neZEH status!

The RH Corona del Mar (Benidorm, Alicante) has defined its first initiatives to improve the hotel energy efficiency and performance according neZEH status:  Installing presence sensors, Implementation of an ozone system in the laundry to save hot water and reduce the use of detergents and chemicals and Replacing minibars by other models of lower energy consumption, among others.

Our member SiTI - Higher Institute on Territorial Systems for Innovation, Italian partner of the neZEH- Nearly Zero Energy Hotels, project with NECStouR , has identified the two Italian neZEH pilot cases.

A few weeks ago, the hotel owners signed the agreement with the team of the European project, agreeing to get involved and beginning the process that will lead them to become the first Nearly Zero Energy Hotels in Italy.
