MITOMED

AIM:

Protecting and promoting Mediterranean natural and cultural resources

Programme specific objective: To enhance sustainable development policies for more efficient valorisation of natural resources and cultural heritage in coastal and adjacent maritime areas of a sustainable and responsible coastal and maritime tourism in the MED Area.

Role of NECSTouR:

NECSTouR is responsible of the transferring of the main Project outputs (set of indicators to support the policy-makers towards the adoption of Sustainable Coastal and Maritime Tourism policy, and an open platform for policy benchmarking, a green beach model,...) to other Coastal and Maritime Destinations.

The network is also supporting the capitalisation of the final Mediterranean Coastal and Maritime Tourism Management Model.

Besides NECSTouR, five other NECSTouR members are in the Partnership Consortium: Tuscany Region (lead Partners),  CNR-IBIMET, IPTPO (HR), Tourism and Sport of Andalusia (ES) and the University of Girona (ES).

The purpose of the research paper, conducted by the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in Istria Region, is to analyse the importance of users’ perceptions and satisfaction as an indicator for future investment and management of beaches in a sustainable way.

Toward Policy Recommendations on Sustainable Tourism: Shaping the Results of the MED Community

MITOMED+ Capitalisation Conference - "Towards Improved Governance and Management for Sustainable M&C Tourism"

This event corresponds to the Capitalisation Conference of the Interreg MED MITOMED+ (Models of Integrated Tourism in the MEDiterranean Plus) project. It aims to disseminate its results and encourage their replication beyond the project’s area. It is aimed to EU policy makers, destination managers, tourism professionals and regional and local policy makers, among others.

Baltic Sea World Heritage Summit

The Summit has been a conference and a forum for coastal World Heritage Sites around the Baltic Sea, to strengthen cooperation and exchange of best practices. The summit has been attended by leading politicians and key individuals from the region.

PANORAMED Participatory Lab

The aim of the Participatory Lab is to discuss the prospects and challenges of digitalised labour focusing on regional growth and global competition. Synergies across regions, cities, sectors and specialisations will ensure EU-wide impact.

This event, organised in the framework of the European Week of Cities and Regions

Andalusian Strategic Projects towards a Sustainable Coastal Tourism

The regional Minitry of Tourism, Regeration, Justice and Local Administration of Andalusia is partner of two projects focused on the Sustainable Development of Mediterranean Destinations: DestiMED Plus and BestMED.
