The Institute of Biometeorology - National Research Council of Italy (Ibimet-Cnr) is organizing, in collaboration with other Cnr Institutes and University Departments, the seventh International Symposium: 'Monitoring of Mediterranean coastal Areas: problems and measurement techniques'.

Conference "Sustainable Beach Management"

 

The Administrative Department for Tourism of the Istrian Region and the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism invite you to a conference "Sustainable Beach Management".

In accordance with the guidelines of the Regional Program for the Management of Sea Beaches in the County of Istria, for the purpose of further public dialogue on responsible and sustainable management of beaches in Istria, concrete examples of “Green Beach” model implementation in the Region of Tuscany, Cyprus and the Istrian County will be presented.

Towards a circular economy and sustainable tourism on islands

 

The Mediterranean region is the world's leading tourist destination. In the summer season, due to the annual tourist wave, mediterranean islands host a far greater population. This is beneficial for the local economies, but it also puts a huge burden on the local infrastructures, especially for waste management systems.

The tool launched by the Med Sustainable Tourism Community

The MED Sustainable Tourism Community is glad to announce that the 'Search the Med' tool has been officially launched.

The "Search the Med" tool embodies a fully customizable search engine providing access to a wide range of documents related to tourism sustainability issues with particular focus on Mediterranean. It could be considered as a multi-source repository of sources regarding the sustainability of tourism and with particular emphasis on the Mediterranean region.

Debate on Indicators. It has been a unique occasion to debate on the use of Indicators to measure Sustainable Tourism Policies in the Mediterranean with some of the main European experts in that field.
