NECSTouR and Tuscany Region Contribution to the 2017 IYSTD presented in Rome

 

NECSTouR Secretary General from the Tuscany Region, Dr Stefano Romagnoli presented NECSTouR and Toscana Region Contribution to the 2017 IYSTD.

The occasion was the event organised on the 14th of June in Rome by Italian Ministry for Tourism and in cooperation with the UNWTO.

The title of the event was "Sustainability, Tourism and Cultural Heritage: The Italian Way"

The intervention of Dr Romagnoli has been particularly appreciated, since it showed to the attendants -and among them the UNWTO Secretary General, Mr Taleb Rifai and the Italian Minister for Tourism, Mr Dario Franceschini - an overview of the "NECSTouR's way" of goals, indicators and best practices to inspire the Italian Sustainable tourism model for culture and cultural heritage.

During his presentation, Dr Romagnoli had the opportunity to present all the initiatives that NECSTouR is promoting in the framework of this 2017 International Year for Sustainable Tourism for Development, such as:

  • NECSTouR and UNWTO thematic conference “Smart Tourism Destinations, Contributions to the Planet and Its People” (Seville, 31st March 2017),
  • NECSTouR and UNWTO's side event at the Oceans Conference “EU Tourism Committed to Blue Growth ” (New York, 8th June 2017),
  • NECSTouR and Tuscany session at the European Parliament “Sustainable Tourism for All” (Brussels, 20th June 2017)
  • NECSTouR and Catalonia workshop “Social and Cultural Sustainability in Tourism” (Barcelona 24th November 2017).
