The Barcelona Declaration Presented to the European Network of UNESCO Sites

On the 3rd of October, Mr Tomaso Comazzi from the NECSTouR Permanent Secretariat has been invited to present the NECSTouR experiences and initiatives on the development of a Competitive and Sustainable Tourism at the European Level to 20 representatives of the European Network of Unesco Sites (Mirabilia).

The Barcelona Declaration "Better Places to Live, Better Places to Visit" has been presented as the NECSTouR innovative model to address the sustainability of the social and cultural impacts of tourism in Europe, by proposing a set of principles to be applied jointly in order to responsibly balance the uses of cultural heritage, the demands of the tourism industry and the needs of the local community.

Further Cooperation. Mirabilia has been recently created and is a good potential partner for NECStouR in the field of Cultural Tourism. Synergies for a further cooperation has been explored during the discussion with the audience.
