CAST is a network of European CCI active on sustainable tourism. It is coordinated by the ACFCI and cofinanced by the EU.

One of its objectives is to contribute to knowledge development on tourism business environmental practices and on the barriers they face. A study, led by the Tourism and Travel Research Institute and based on a business survey among 140 SMEs, has thus been produced:

-  Study « Environmental initiatives by Tourism Small and Medium Enterprises in six European regions »

Its aim is also to allow partner CCI to exchange on their practices to support business tourism towards environmental management. Two guides have been published in order to provide a method to European CCI and other intermediary organisation willing to support touristic structures towards environmental management:

-  A tourism business guide with 10 easy-to-implement ecotips

-  A methodology guide for CCI and intermediary organisations which present the different steps of a project implementation in that field together with examples of existing CCI practices

These guides are currently available in French and English. Soon, they will be available in other languages: Spanish, Italian, Hungarian, Estonian, Greek.
