Mediterranean Sustainable Tourism Convention 2019

The Mediterranean Sustainable Tourism Convention 2019 aims at being the reference event for sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean area. It aims at fostering sound debate on key topics to promote more sustainable tourism and to provide a platform to showcase solutions developed by the projects of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community, funded by the European Programme Interreg MED. The Convention will gather more than 70 speakers and 200 representatives at Europea, national, regional and local level of the tourism sector from private and public entities and higher education institutions. 

The Convention  is also the occasion to discover the 18 territorial cooperation projects of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community, active in 12 northern Mediterranean countries involving almost 200 organisations. They will present their main results in an exhibition area and through a series of side events. 

Organised by the Barcelona Provincial Council and the BleuTourMed project in partnership with CETT - UB (School of Tourism,Hospitality and Gastronomy of the University of Barcelona) and the Hotel Alimara. the Convention is structured around one day and a half of panel discussions and thematic round tables, an exhibition space during the days of the conference and a programme of site visits to learn about sustainable tourism experiences in the territory near Barcelona.

MITOMED+ Project Partners will contribute to this event and will organise a side event trargeting European Costal Destination Managers to join forces and to any Coastal and Maritime Destination from the Mediterranean, and beyond, interested in improving its sustainability performance, MITOMED+ offers you the opportunity to use the policy tools developed by the project and contribute to the MED Coastal and Maritime tourism management model.
