The European Travel Commission, together with Visit Flanders and IGLTA, will be hosting an Educational Forum on LGBTQ Tourism on 21st June 2018 at the Hilton Hotel Grand Place in Brussels from 9.00 to 17.00, followed by a Cocktail Reception in the Hotel from 17.00 to 19.00.
The goal of the Educational Forum is to spread understanding on LGBTQ Tourism in Europe among businesses and destinations. During the Forum we will launch our new “Handbook on LGBTQ tourism in Europe” aimed at understanding current state, prospects and opportunities of LGBTQ tourism with a special focus on Europe, in view of worldwide trends and expected evolution of the segment.
We will bring together key representatives of the industry already present on this market to share their best practices, businesses and destinations looking to deepen their understanding of and establish their presence on the LGBTQ travel market, NGOs supporting human rights of the LGBTQ community, and decision makers on a European policy level.
We believe that tourism could greatly contribute in supporting the progress of equal rights of the LGBTQ community and benefit from a reinforced image of Europe as a safe, inclusive and tolerant destination.
