Cultural Heritage in Europe: linking past and future

 

26 June 2018, Hemicycle of the European Parliament, Brussels - 14:00-19:00 CET

Today more than ever, it is vital to highlight and foster European heritage and creativity. On 26 June 2018, the European Parliament is therefore organising a High-Level Conference on "Cultural heritage in Europe" in the Hemicycle at the initiative of President Tajani and in close cooperation with the Committee on Culture and Education, chaired by Ms Petra Kammerevert.

The Regional and Local dimension under the Cultural Heritage

 

Regions are key players in achieving the he European Year for Cultural Heritage (EYCH) objectives because they are closer to citizens. Regions can be proactive in the promotion of cultural heritage, acting as a catalyst for creativity, competitiveness, innovation, new skills for young generation, inclusion, sustainability and protection. Finally, regions can also strengthen cultural heritage as a pivotal element of  international relations.
